My Favorite Craft Projects of 2017

It’s almost 2018 my friends, and it has been a busy year at A Peace of Creativity. Looking back, this has been one of the most pivotal times in my creative career: from making new friends in the creative social media community, to starting craft nights, opening my Sparkle Shop and designing custom party decor, I cannot be more grateful to be able to pursue my passions.

I am counting down my Top 5 Favorite Projects from 2017 which was no easy feat as I really enjoyed everything I made this year. I would love to hear which one was your fav!

5. POM POM & TASSEL KEYCHAINS

Need something bright and colorful to dress-up that boring old bag? These DIY pom pom and tassel keychains were a little thank you for the guests of my very first Craft Night!

4. PAPER LEAVES CHANDELIER

This gorgeous paper leaves chandelier is the perfect mix of natural, metallic, and geometric and was made for my sister’s Metallic Garden Bridal Shower. It is a beautiful addition to any event or home.

3. PIN CUSHION CACTUS

This one I made for my mom and I! Keep your pins stored in this cute yet functional felt cactus pin cushion. A super easy DIY that can be made with a sewing machine or by hand.

2. SHELL NECKLACE & HEART OF TE FITI

For my daughter’s favorite movie at the time, make your very own Disney’s Moana necklace that opens and closes and glow in the dark Heart of Te Fiti gem. Free pattern printable and tutorial!

1. SUPERHERO HALLOWEEN COSTUMES

Of course this one is my absolute favorite. You will want to see our three little superheroes, each with their own sets of powers and ready to save the world!

There is no question that I would not have been able to accomplish so much without your support. Thank you for following along in my journey and I am so excited to show you what I have planned for 2018. Happy New Year!

GRAND OPENING: THE SPARKLE SHOP

I call myself a lifetime crafter because I was raised creating & making and I don’t plan on stopping, ever! In 2013, I started this blog as a way to catalog everything I made, all of the parties I planned and to highlight the creativity of the people around me. My posts soon morphed from just showing what I made into crafting tutorials with the hope of inspiring people to build their inner “craft confidence.” With the addition of Craft Nights, I feel myself getting closer and closer to my goals and the path that I would like to continue on.

It has been a secret (or not-so-secret) dream of mine to open a shop of my own but I could never decide on what to sell. I love trying all sorts of crafts and the challenge of making something new, so I could never commit to just one thing over and over again. I realized, with the help of those closest to me, that I didn’t have to choose one thing in order to open my own shop. Duh! I could really make whatever I wanted, but the main driving force would be my passion for sparkles. Sparkles make me happy and bring me peace and have always been one of my favorite things.

And that brings me to announcing the Grand Opening of my SPARKLE SHOP on Etsy! Everything listed will have a little bit (or a lot!) of sparkle to them and most items will be made only once. But the exciting part (besides the sparkles, of course) is that I hope to add new and different collections of items all of the time. ***Make sure to stop by and if you have an Etsy log-in, don’t forget to make it a “Favorite” and “like” all of the items you love***

Just search me on Etsy or you can access the shop through the menu above!

I am so incredibly grateful to all of you for supporting me in my creative path. It is through you, that I have gained the confidence to take each one of these little steps that bring me closer and closer to where my creative passions lie.

Happy New Year NEWS!

img_7858Lately, my posts have been few and far between but I would like to blame it on a little thing called PREGNANCY!

My husband, daughter and I received the shock of our lives when we found out we were pregnant with not one, but TWO BOYS due in June!  I am starting to feel better from the fatigue and morning sickness but now my mind is filled with thoughts and preparations for the near and distant future. You can be sure to see more posts planning for the arrival of my twin additions and I do have some projects I want to show you, waiting in the wings.  But for now, here I am at 17 weeks!  Happy New Years from all FIVE of us!

A Peace Remodel

Happy Friday!  If you have some extra time, be sure to check out the newly remodeled website.  We have been working to make navigation a bit easier and more user-friendly.

On the homepage now, you can see all of the projects featured in one place.  Each photo links to the original blog post!

HomeLittle Peaces from Instagram and Facebook are also all in one place.  If you click on any of these, it will take you directly to the original post and explanations.

Create and Be Proud

I have a handful of projects that I can’t wait to share with you, but I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know how incredibly thankful and humbled I am for all of the positive feedback I have received on my blog.  This originally started as a way to document everything I create and while that is still very much true, I have also found a passion in inspiring others to be creative.  Life is busy, there is never enough time or energy and that is why I feel it is so important to take pride in your creativity.  I would love my blog to not only be a collection of what I make, but also as a forum for you to share your creations.
